FAQ

  • No, a mini session doesn’t align with my creative process and approach to capturing families.

  • I provide a mix of both. The majority of your photos will be in color, but I look for opportunities, based on lighting and emotion, when an image would benefit from the timelessness of black and white.

  • Authenticity is such an important aspect of these shoots—so don’t feel the need to dress to impress. But, if you want to use this as an excuse to invest in a piece of clothing that you love and feel beautiful in? Then by all means, there’s nothing like a Doen dress showing up on your doorstep to get you in the mood to be seen.

  • For outdoor shoots the timing is pretty specific, but the light in your photos makes these call times worth it. I promise. Sunrise or sunset is my preferred time to shoot. So as close as we can get to sunrise and at least an hour and half before sunset.

Sometimes it’s necessary to adjust the timing based on the season and bedtime schedules for little ones. I schedule shoots assuming it’s going to be a bright, sunny day, but if we encounter overcast skies I get in touch to adjust the timing as needed.

Since documentary sessions are long-form, the timing isn’t based on light, instead it’s the schedule of clients and what they’d like documented.

  • I book only one family session per day, but throughout the year I’ll fit in as many family sessions as my schedule allows for!

  • I book five to ten weddings per year and the final number is entirely based on fit. Personalities, schedules, and the vision all need to align.

  • My wedding clients can expect 800 to 1,300 edited images. For family shoots, expect 100 to 150 edited images from a one hour session.

  • No. I like the reliability and flexibility of digital. I do adjust my editing process to lend the timelessness of film to my images.

  • Journalistic, real, timeless, emotional, artistic, light and emotion-focused.

  • If it’s an engagement or family session I reach out to reschedule. If you’re traveling to Rhode Island for vacation, we can plan a rain date in advance.
